I like having backstory to missions.
Single site missions are usually fine for quick missions, but multiple room ones offer the possibilities of completing the mission in different ways.
Having multiple ways to get somewhere could be more stimulating, especially if there were such things as gates unlockable with the hacking skills or something. Route A the backdoor, requiring a bit of sneakyness, or Route B, busting down the frontdoor and shooting everything. I think this would be more interesting, and reduce the boredom through repetition problem.
One thing I don't like about single site missions is that some of them promote the "Sit still, tank and shoot" strategy, esp. those where there's those webbing towers, or lots of spider drones. THere's little or no reason to manouvre, just select new targets and reactivate weapons. I think this isn't as interesting as it should be.
The strength of the npcs is something that could be looked at. Fewer, stronger, more individually valuable npcs would be interesting, I think. It doesn't feel quite right to see 5 battleships and knock them all down easily.
More reasons to do things with friends (friends, not alts) would be good. Some missions with new waves of npcs are problematic, in that a player in a smaller ship can get full aggro and be destroyed in short order. This means doing missions in a group of mixed ship sizes/skill levels is harder work for the larger ships as they have to manage a lot more things, to protect the smaller ones, which can mean the drawbacks of playing with others outweigh the benefits.
Rewards for missions need looked at, I think. THere's too much junk loot from the npcs - energy transfer arrays, hull repairers, smartbombs, remote repairers, shield transfer arrays, which are supplied in such large proportions that there's no way you could realistically use them even in cheap lootfit pvp ships. So they get reprocessed, which is bad for the mining profession. Isk and Lp rewards are fairly OK, might need tweaked, but that's a fairly simple issue, isn't it? Standings rewards need looked at. For the storyline missions anyway, the other ones are fine. But for storylines, there's several missions where the faction standings gain is very small, e.g. that "Materials for War Preparation". Several lvl3 storyline missions provide standings gains that are higher than almost all of the lvl4 storylines. This does not seem right.
